Traditional aristocratic society as described by Bodin; "self-seeking" the state of nature obligation and natural law in Hobbes and Locke; Rousseau on freedom and equality; utilitarianism and liberty in Bentham and Mill; the dialectical method history and self-consciousness in Hegel; alienation historical materialism and class struggle in Marx.
