EDUC 410 Participatory Action Research (PAR) Methods in Education

Participatory Action Research (PAR) is an ‘action research’ methodology in which researchers and community partners collaborate to conduct critical research. PAR projects typically involve (a) the collective investigation of a problem, that (b) relies on indigenous and/or community knowledges to guide/inform that research, towards the end of (c) individual and/or collective action to address that problem. This course introduces students to the research methodology through guided study. Students will understand basic study design, various methods of qualitative data collection & analysis, as well as dissemination.
