BIO 298 Huntington-Occidental Pre-med Program (HOPP)

The Huntington-Occidental Pre-med Program (HOPP) is a course that teaches pre-med students how physicians interact with and evaluate clinical populations by introducing students to medical interviewing and differential diagnoses and sharing real patient cases. It empowers students to reflect on the process of becoming a doctor by interacting with medical students, residents, and attending physicians, allowing students to make informed career decisions. Course includes supervised participation in the work of a hospital or other health-related clinic.

Students must apply with the Office of Pre-Health Advising before enrolling in the course. Students also must complete Huntington Hospital training and OXY-HIPPA training once enrolled. Instructor permission required.
