PUBH 203 Introduction to Public Health
This course explores the nation's public health challenges and the ways that public health functions as a combination of science and politics. The course examines the various social, political, and demographic factors that impact population health. Students are introduced to public health concepts and learn to analyze health problems, considering the influence and intersection of race, status, gender, income, education and sexuality. Using data, evidence, and health behavior theory, students evaluate strategies and solutions to address health inequity and improve population health.
