ARTS 102 Painting Fundamentals: A Global Perspective
This course is an introduction to painting from a global perspective. Throughout history all cultures have developed techniques to depict their realities and ideas through paint. Painting from a global perspective will introduce students to European formalism (line, shape, form, light, space, and color) as one set of tools among many found around the world. We will consider how varying cultures have historically and contemporarily utilized paint to think through experiences on earth.
