In an increasingly complex, interdependent and pluralistic world, the ability to engage in conversations reflecting different perspectives is essential for fostering understanding and community. This course engages students in a diverse set of events designed to challenge perspectives, build empathy, and cultivate connections among individuals from varied backgrounds. To receive credit, students must engage with at least eight (8) designated events during the course of the semester and complete two short reflection papers. Students will select these events from a list available on the course’s Canvas page. This course is graded CR/NC and does not fulfill any major, minor, or Core requirements. Students may take this course twice, for a maximum of two units being applied toward graduation.
