LLAS 390 Los Angeles and the Global Food Economy
This course examines the political ecology/economy of food, agriculture, and hunger in Los Angeles with an emphasis on Latin American-Caribbean relations. Students will explore these themes through readings, lectures, and a class-based research project in the city where students will gain practical experience in research design and apply techniques such as qualitative interviews and surveys, oral histories, ethnography, participant observation, and utilize archival material and visual and audio documentation.
