MAC 243 Race, Gender, and Sexuality in American Film and Media
This course introduces students to the theoretical and analytical frameworks necessary to critically understand representations of race, gender, and sexuality (among other topics in American culture) in contemporary American film and media. Using critical theory, historical analyses, and theories of analyzing film and media, we will explore issues relevant to American studies, including race, gender, sexuality, class, family and nation, and private and public space.
