SOC 361 Sociology of Whiteness

This class examines racism in the U.S. and globally through the lens of power. We will explore how whiteness shapes institutions, politics, pop culture, social media, technology, and identity as well as how it intersects with other systems like gender, class, and citizenship. We will also consider what it looks like to dismantle these systems for a more just and equitable society.
