HIST 498 Advanced Directed Research

This advanced directed research course is designed for history majors who have completed the HIST 490 Senior Seminar and have been approved by the HIST 490 instructors to continue on as candidates for Honors designation. Over the course of the semester each honors thesis writer will work with a research mentor on advanced methodologies and multiple drafts to expand their original research and revise the thesis from a 25-page paper to a 40-page (or more) paper. The seminar will culminate with a program of oral presentations in which each student will share their work with the Department and the campus community. Instructor permission required.
