Expanding on skills of improvisation and accompaniment covered in the Keyboard Musicianship 1 and 2, students will dig deeper into pianistic patterns, hone their own personal style at the keyboard, and play at a higher level in a number of different genres. Students will collaborate with singers and other musicians to hone ensemble skills, and will be challenged to play in a variety of styles while adding to their toolbox of accompaniment and improvisatory skills to be used in recording and live performance settings. This is an applied piano course, so more emphasis will be put on weekly practice and performance than on the theoretical and compositional skills covered in Keyboard Musicianship 1 and 2.
