This course traces the evolution of poetry in the Spanish-speaking world and includes the study of representative works of poetry produced in Spain and the Americas from the Middle Ages to the twenty-first century. The works reflect the major movements and artistic trends that characterize the context of their production, and they illustrate the richness and diversity of the Spanish-speaking world.
This is a 4-unit course. It is expected that students in this class devote on average at least twelve (12) hours a week (including in-class time) to the course.
