SPAN 375 Narratives of Confinement in Latin American Literature
This course investigates how Latin American literature represents imprisonment, political repression, and strategies of resistance with an emphasis on 20th and 21st century works. We will focus on representations of confinement by engaging with a wide range of genres – including fiction, poetry, plays, literary testimonies – alongside film and critical essays, to analyze the relationship between literature, history, and human rights.
