MAC 240 Introduction to Media Practices
This course builds upon the critical and historical grounding of MAC 100-level gateway courses, providing students with foundational media production skills and exposure to the wide-ranging creative possibilities of time-based media practices. Students will conceptually and practically explore historical and contemporary approaches to fictional, documentary, and experimental media through a series of production projects, each supplemented by a range of readings, exercises, technical workshops, guests, screenings, and critiques. Not open to seniors. Required of all students in the Media Production Focus. Prioritization given to intended MAC majors (both Critical Media and Media Production focuses). Registration is by instructor permission only. Before the end of advising week each semester, interested students must add their name to the consideration list here:
