THEA 210 Intermediate Acting
Building Character: Physical Approaches to Character & Scene Study
In this course, students develop physical approaches to character through a progression of techniques, improvisations, devised work, and scripted scene study. By deepening physical expression, kinesthetic awareness, and ensemble responsiveness, students discover how the body can be a primary instrument for building vivid, truthful characters. Students also develop skills to closely read scripts, make strong acting choices, and bring dynamic characters to life in imaginary circumstances.
The semester culminates in final scene projects in which students integrate the full range of tools explored throughout the course to create grounded, fully realized performances.
