MUSC 130 Sinfonia and Chamber Ensembles

The Occidental Sinfonia is an orchestral ensemble that plays music from the Baroque era through today; students participating in Sinfonia may elect to form smaller groups to play chamber music, which receive weekly coaching from Sinfonia's director and faculty coaches.  Through its collaboration with Oxy's music composition program, Sinfonia will perform and record new music, including film scores written for MAC student films.  Each spring, Sinfonia will partner with the Glee Club and College Chorus to perform a large choral work with orchestral accompaniment.  Enrollment is by audition during the first week of the fall semester.  Open to all students as well as alumni and community members.  May be repeated seven times for credit.
