MUSC 232 Keyboard Musicianship II

In this course, students build on the skills they began working on in MUSC 231, applied to more complex keys, more chromatic harmonies, and more remote transpositions. Students learn a broad range of keyboard skills: basic keyboard technique, sight reading, harmonization of melodies and basses, transposition, and accompanying. Students apply these skills to a wide variety of musical styles, including classical, jazz, and popular music. MUSC 232 is required of all music majors and is intended to parallel the content of MUSC 251. Prerequisite: MUSC 231.
