Financial Aid Application Process
Students seeking need-based financial aid are required to file all financial aid applications by published deadlines. Admission applicants are automatically considered for merit based scholarships; the College does not require a student to apply for need-based financial aid to be considered for merit-based scholarships.
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA): All U.S. citizens, permanent residents and eligible noncitizens must submit the FAFSA annually at www.studentaid.gov.
CSS Profile: All U.S. citizens, permanent residents and eligible noncitizens must also submit the CSS Profile annually at www.cssprofile.collegeboard.org. If you do not complete the CSS Profile but you list Occidental College on your FAFSA, you will be considered for federal and state aid only. First-time applicants whose legal or adoptive parents were never married, are separated or are divorced must also have their noncustodial parent complete their own CSS Profile application.
Supporting Documentation to IDOC: All U.S. citizens, permanent residents and eligible noncitizens must upload supporting documentation to the IDOC portal. U.S. tax filers are required to upload federal income tax returns (Form 1040) including all schedules, W-2 form(s), and business tax returns (such as Form 1120-S or Form 1065 with accompanying Schedule K-1). Additional required forms may be requested and can also be securely uploaded to the IDOC portal.
Student Supplemental Application: Current Oxy students who are re-applying for aid must submit the Student Supplemental Application by March 2 each year. This online questionnaire is only available in the Financial Aid Student Portal via myOxy.
