BLST 490 Black Studies Senior Seminar
During the Fall semester, students will complete a thesis-driven 25-page research paper (their "comps") on a topic in Black Studies. The comps essay will offer an original analysis of primary sources grounded in relevant scholarship. Seminar meetings will focus on the collective experience of BLST majors writing their comps and preparing their presentations. The seminar will be followed up by student presentations in the Spring that will be open to the campus community. BLST 490 is a cohort-focused course that complements will BLST 493, "Senior Comps Directed Research," where students will focus on their individual research goals.
