FYS 62 Chemistry in a Diverse World

In this course, we will examine how chemistry intersects with other areas of science and, more broadly, with society. Topics may range from social justice-related issues pertaining to manufacturing, pollution and safety; to environmental-related issues such as how climate change has impacted chemical systems in the natural world and what solutions chemistry may offer; to health-related issues including the discovery of and access to medicines and understanding of diseases. Open only to first-year frosh.
