FYS 23 Technologies of Resistance
This course will examine modes of and moral groundings for social and political resistance — ranging from highly organized revolutionary movements to distributed, asymmetrical and covert actions. We will also attend to the role of new digital technologies — from social media to AI, drones and other robotic weapons. The examples and sites we will study will be global but with special attention to the Middle East and North Africa. Open only to first-year frosh.
