FYS 75 Southern California Immigrant and Refugee Histories

Southern California is known for its iconic beaches and landscapes, its eclectic cuisines, its influence on U.S. and global pop cultures. Historically, it has also been a destination for diverse migrants from around the world. This course will focus on the immigrant and refugee populations that have transformed Southern California since the 1960s, with special attention to Asian and Latinx migrations to the Southland. Open to first-year frosh only.
